Student Health in Chattanooga

University of Tennessee at Chattanooga Student Health Services

UTHSC College of Medicine-Chattanooga has an agreement with the local undergraduate campus to provide medical care for UTHSC medical and PA students rotating in Chattanooga. UTC's Student Health Services is located less than 1 mile from Erlanger.

If you are in need of medical attention, call to schedule an appointment and identify yourself as a UTHSC medical or PA student. Please bring your UTHSC ID card and insurance card to each visit in case there are services for which there is a charge.


Academic Internal Medicine at Erlanger

If you are in need of medical attention, please call to schedule an appointment and identify yourself as a medical student. The AIM scheduling office will work to accommodate you as soon as possible. Visiting students may also use this location; just be sure to bring your health insurance card and information so AIM can determine your co-pay and file your insurance.

Note: Services at AIM do not include COVID testing, bloodborne exposures, or needle sticks.


Behavioral Health & Well-Being


UTHSC medical and PA students rotating in Chattanooga have full access to the resources from the main UTHSC campus through University Counseling Services (UCS). UCS offers counselors who provide individual, group and crisis counseling for students, residents, and fellows. For students in Chattanooga, sessions can be arranged via phone or virtual platform.

Services related to counseling, mental health, and overall health and wellness services are also available through UTHSC University Health Services in Memphis. There is no issue too small or too large.

UTHSC students needing behavioral health care should contact the United Healthcare Student Resources at 800.767.0700 to identify a covered provider in our area. If the student has behavioral health benefits through another insurance company, they should contact their provider to determine similar information.

UTHSC College of Medicine-Chattanooga has a full-time licensed counselor available to provide free, confidential educational and behavioral counseling.
